The Spanish club "Barcelona" may face sanctions for repeated violations of financial reporting rules.
According to "Report", citing "The Times", UEFA has begun reviewing possible penalties against the Catalan club.
Earlier, in July 2023, the Catalan club was fined 500,000 euros for misreporting revenue from the sale of intangible assets. This is reported to be related to the sale of 10% of audiovisual rights in 2022 for 267 million 89 thousand euros for a period of 25 years. In 2024, the club sold another 15% of these rights for 400 million euros. However, these receipts are not classified as operating profit.
As a result, "Barcelona" may face restrictions on player registration for the next season's UEFA Champions League matches, and points may also be deducted if the violation is proven.
It should be noted that "Barcelona" became the Spanish champion in the 2024/2025 season, scoring 88 points in 38 matches.
