"Barcelona" club has announced that it has received permission from the Barcelona City Council to increase the spectator capacity of the "Camp Nou" stadium.
"Report" reports, citing the Catalan's press service, that this decision will allow the stadium's capacity to be increased from 45,000 to 62,652 people.
The main part of the ongoing work is aimed at creating VIP zones and lounge areas located between the first and second floors of the stadium.
In addition, additional guest areas are being created at the stadium.
Besides, a new zone called "Gol 1957" will be organized for fans in the southern part of the stadium. This name was chosen in honor of the opening of "Camp Nou" in 1957.
The club management believes that the new venue will strengthen fans' support for the team and further improve the atmosphere in the stadium during games.
