The management of the Barcelona football club has sent an official appeal to UEFA regarding the condition of the pitch before the match in Madrid. The Catalan representative stated that the height of the grass at the stadium where Atlético plays its home games is above the norm.
İdman.Biz reports that Barcelona officials have demanded that the height of each blade of grass on the pitch be measured. UEFA responded by promising that the issue would be checked according to a special protocol and that the grass would be cut if necessary.
According to current rules, the height of the grass on the pitch should not exceed three centimeters. For comparison, this figure is always maintained at 2.3 centimeters at the Camp Nou stadium.
Atlético, for its part, stated that all requirements were met and that the pitch did not differ from its condition in other matches.
