The team's captain spoke about winning the AFFA Regional League. He said that he is happy that they became champions: "The season was memorable with many interesting events. Some of our games were difficult, while others went normally. Play-off matches were more difficult than group games. Stronger teams remained at the end. Although with difficulty, we won worthy victories in all games. During the season, our team conceded only one goal."
Huseynov also spoke about "Khankendi" winning a ticket to the Second League: "Our goal is to continue our successful performance in the future. We have already had a conversation with the management about this. Our goal in the next season is also only the championship. We want to go as far as we can. We have players in our team with Premier League experience. As the team progresses, there will be changes in the squad. From the day the "Khankendi" football club was founded, our goal has been to reach the Premier League. We are moving towards this goal. We understand the responsibility of the name "Khankendi" well. When new players join our team, we first explain to them the weight of the name we carry. Our main goal is to represent this name properly."
It should be noted that in the final game held yesterday at the Gabala city stadium, "Khankendi" defeated "Shirvan" with a score of 3:0 and became the champion and won the right to participate in the Second League. The team will represent Azerbaijan in the UEFA Region Cup next season.
