Milana Rahimova, an Azerbaijani national team footballer playing for the North Macedonian club "Lyuboten", said she was happy that they defeated Armenian representative "Pyunik" with a big score (4:0) in the first qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League.
The 21-year-old defender gave an interview to "Report" about this.
She said that they prepared very seriously before the match:
"We analyzed the opponent. We knew what kind of team they were. We also had our own goals. We knew the match would be difficult. Nevertheless, we were only thinking about winning. I am glad that we qualified for the next stage and defeated the Armenian team. From the moment I heard that I would be playing against the Armenian team, I felt a great responsibility, desire and aggression. First of all, I knew that I would be playing for my homeland. I had to do everything to defeat the opponent. I showed this with my game. I was playing very aggressively. They also knew that I was Azerbaijani. Aggression was visible in my eyes".
M. Rahimova also spoke about her goals in the next round:
"We will play against the Belgian club "Rosengard". It is a good team. They have quality players. We have to follow the instructions of our coaches and do our best. Our goal is to win again. We are working on this as a team".
It should be noted that the member of the Azerbaijani national team started the match against "Pyunik" in the first "11" and was on the field until the end.
