UEFA will distribute a total of 244 million euros to clubs that send players to national teams in 2024-2028.
İdman.biz reports with reference to Teleqraf that the decision was made at a meeting of the organization's Executive Committee in Bilbao, Spain.
The corresponding amount was allocated on the basis of a mutual agreement with the European Club Association (ECA).
In fact, the amount of this fund was supposed to be 240 million euros. However, 7 million euros also remained from the allocation of the previous selection cycle. 3 million euros of this fund will be added to the 6 million euro fund in the discount program for clubs represented by football players in the 2025 European Women's Championship based on the ECA's proposal. As a result, the amount allocated to women's football will be increased to 9 million euros.
The remaining 4 million euros will be added to the 240 million euros.
Thus, 104 million euros of the final amount of 244 million euros will cover the matches in the UEFA Nations League in the 2024/2025 and 2026/2027 seasons, as well as the qualifying matches to be held in 2026 - 2028. The 140 million euro portion will be distributed among the clubs that send players to EURO-2028.
