The only expectation of the Azerbaijan women's national football team in the UEFA Nations League match against Lithuania is victory.
According to "Report", this was stated by the team's captain Sevinc Jafarzade in an interview with the AFFA press service.
She said that they can only rise to League B through victory:
"We will do our best on the field to win 3 points. First of all, we must ensure victory. Then we need to fight to increase the goal difference in order to improve our position. I don't think this will put extra pressure on the team. Our main job is to fight to the end on the field and achieve the result we want. But we know very well that this will not be easy. That's why we are preparing for the game at the maximum level."
S. Jafarzade noted that she appreciated their performance in the UEFA Nations League:
"I think that our team achieved successful results, even though they had to compete in some games without key players. But our work is not over yet, we must continue. We all understand how important the upcoming match is."
The football player also emphasized that she motivates the team as a captain:
"Sometimes I don't just keep motivation in the locker room. There are times when I try to do them in training or in pre-match meetings so that our players are as prepared and motivated as possible. We also have certain conversations in the locker room. We know as a team how important each meeting is, but I once again bring this to everyone's attention. I trust all my teammates. Our goal is to represent our country properly."
It should be noted that the Azerbaijan-Latvia match will start today at 18:00.
