"It's always been difficult to play against Neftchi in this arena." Azer Salahli, a football player for Imishli, said these words in a statement to journalists, Sport24.az reports.
The player shared his thoughts on the game in the XII round of the Misli Premier League, in which they defeated the opponent 3:2:
"Our match against the renewed Neftchi was especially difficult. But we believed until the end that we would win points. We are very happy. It was difficult, but it was worth it for this victory."
Salahli recalled that they had defeated his former team:
"I don't want to lose to Neftchi this season. The second game is behind us. The first match ended in a draw. It was a matter of principle for me. I didn't want to lose. I wanted to show that the problem wasn't with me. I was always criticized. I guess if they find the problem, they will solve it."
"Neftchi has players who play well individually. You have to play in the background against them. As chances arise, you have to rely on counter-attacks and set pieces. We made the most of it. We are happy to have won."
The player also touched upon the period when he left Neftchi:
"These are in the past. I won't talk much about it. I am a football player for Imishli. Playing for Neftchi was a pride for me. This is history. It is a great pride to tell your family and children about it in the future. I wish Neftchi success."
"In general, the name of Neftchi, playing against this team is a special motivation."
Azer Salahli said that they have a good team: "The fact that our results are good is related to this. I hope we will hold our games in Imishli soon."
