An interview of Azer Bagirov, the former head coach of "Kapaz", to Sport24.az.
- Almost two months have passed since you left the Ganja representative. If we think with a "cool head", what can you point out as the reason?
- It would be better if you ask the new and old management of "Kapaz" about the reasons for this. From my side, there have always been compromise steps to get the job done. I guess they know better why they made the decisions.
- Good information about the new management of the club is not published in the press. Already in a short time, Erkin Ibrahimov, a member of the Board of Directors, advisor on sports issues, resigned from his post. What can you say about this?
- It would not be correct for me to say whether they are doing their job right or not. I think they know better what to do and how to do it. The steps they take are issues that belong to them. I don't think it would be right for me to talk about it. Every leader stands behind his decision, and he is responsible for his decisions.
- Almost the entire squad of "Kapaz" from last season is gone. Currently, they are also having difficulty finding players for some positions. What do you think is the reason for this?
- These are really interesting questions. But this applies specifically to the current head coach. Adil Shukurov and I may think completely differently. Each expert has his own approach and demands from the players. It seems to me that they cannot find the players they want. That is why the team is being completed late.
- A contract was signed with you last season in September...
- In my period, it was like we brought some football players we knew and had to get out of the situation quickly. In a word, we had to get "Kapaz" out of a bad situation.
- Haven't you received an offer since leaving "Kapaz"?
- There were offers from some clubs. But they weren't what I wanted. That's why we didn't even negotiate.
- Wasn't it an ambitious club, or was there another reason?
- I have my own point of view for today. I can't say what will happen tomorrow or in the next few days. For today, I want to take a completely different step.
