Interview of Azer Bagirov, former head coach of "Kapaz" to Sport24.az
- It has been almost two months since you left the Ganja representative. If we think "with a cold head", what can you point out as the reason?
- It would be better if you ask the reasons for this from the new and old leadership of "Kapaz". There have always been compromise steps from my side to get the job done. They probably know better why they made the decisions.
- The press does not publish good information about the new leadership of the club. Already in a short time, Erkin Ibrahimov, a member of the Board of Directors, advisor on sports issues, has left his post. What can you say about this?
- It would not be right to say whether they did their job correctly or not. I think they know better what to do and how to do it. The steps they take are their own business. I don't think it's right for me to talk about it. Every leader stands behind the decision he makes, and he is responsible for the decisions he makes.
- Almost the entire squad of "Kapaz" from last season is gone. Currently, they are having difficulty finding players for some positions. What do you think is the reason for this?
- These are really interesting questions. But this applies only to the current head coach. Adil Shukurov and I may think completely differently. Every specialist has his own approach and requirements from the players. It seems to me that they cannot find the players they want. Therefore, the team is late to complete.
- You signed a contract with us last season in September...
- In my period, it was like we brought some players we knew and we had to get out of the situation quickly. In short, we had to get "Kapaz" out of a bad situation.
- Didn't you receive any offers after leaving "Kapaz"?
- There were offers from some clubs. But they weren't what I wanted. So we didn't even discuss it.
- Was it not an ambitious club, or was there another reason?
- I have my own perspective for today. I can't say what will happen tomorrow or in the coming days. Today I want to take a completely different step.
