Ayxan Suleymanli, the captain of the Azerbaijan national team of football players under 21, hopes to return to the green fields soon after the surgery.
The "Sumgayit" defender himself said this in an interview with "Report".
The 21-year-old football player said that the surgery on his left knee anterior cruciate ligament, which took place yesterday in Munich, Germany, was successful:
"I had a conversation with the doctors, and they said that everything is fine. I started walking with crutches today. The doctors said that I can train after 6 months. But it depends a little on myself, if I try, this process can be accelerated further. Of course, I have to show character for this. I will have some pain. Such things happen in football. God willing, we will pass this test successfully. The fans of the Azerbaijani national team and "Sumgayit" are worried about me. I promise them that I will return to the green fields soon and show good games. I will return to my homeland on September 22."
It should be noted that Ayxan Suleymanli was injured in the match against the Bulgarian national team (1:1) held in Baku as part of the European Championship qualifying round as part of the U-21 national team.
