"Preparation is going according to plan. We have played one friendly match. First of all, the physical condition of the players must improve. In summer, players inevitably get out of shape." These words were said by Aykhan Abbasov, the head coach of "Shamakhi," in his statement to Sport24.az.
The experienced specialist shared his thoughts on his team's first friendly match during the off-season break:
"Our new transfers are with us. They also need time to adapt. Yesterday, we played our first test match with "Gabala." You can't see the tempo you want in the first game. Training is hard, the players are not in the desired shape. It was important for the players to fulfill our tasks. We fought with two squads. The championship is a long marathon. We want to watch everyone's game. There are shortcomings, we will work on them. This year our championship will start with 12 teams. The season will be held in a new system. The number of ambitious teams has increased. We will fight against every team. We would very much like our new players to adapt quickly."
