Ayxan Abbasov, the head coach of "Shamakhi", which lost to "Karvan-Yevlakh" in the 28th round of the Misli Premier League at home, answered journalists' questions at the post-match press conference.
İdman.Biz reports that the head coach stated that his players fought to the end despite the defeat.
"I congratulate the opponent on the victory. We knew that "Karvan-Yevlakh" sees the last matches as a final. We had the game in our hands, we dominated, but we couldn't score. There are many games where we faltered and lost in these moments. Maybe the players' skills were not enough. Nevertheless, fighting for 90 minutes in hot weather and not losing heart is a good indicator," said the head coach.
Abbasov also answered questions about motivation in the team and its future:
"The weather was hot, which also affected the pace. We made changes in the second half, attacking players entered the field, but this was not enough. We had no problem in terms of motivation. If it wasn't like that, the team wouldn't fight until the 90th minute. It's just that the young players were unlucky in the episodes. On the contrary, as the end of the season approaches, the players should be more responsible. Those whose contracts are expiring want to show themselves. I don't believe that my statement about leaving will have a negative impact on the team."
