"Shamakhi" is extremely interested in discovering young football players.
This was stated by Aykhan Abbasov, the head coach of the club, in an interview with "Report".
The specialist said that they want to attract more young players to the team during the summer "transfer window":
"We had a test match with "Gabala" yesterday and I was satisfied. In the first half, we gave a chance to the main team members, and in the second half, to young players. I am satisfied with the performance of the new transfers. You know that our work requires a lot of responsibility. We must benefit both the club and the Azerbaijani national team consisting of players under 21 years old. Serious work is being done in this direction. Some clubs, thank God, are willing to lease young players to us. But there are teams that are not willing to lease those players to us even if they are not included in the main team. I want every potential football player to appear in their teams. This can only contribute to Azerbaijani football."
He stated that they have reached an agreement with Nihad Mehraliyev and Davud Masimov, who played in "Garabagh's" reserve team last season:
"We talked to Qurban Qurbanov, the head coach of "Garabagh". I thank him for helping young players to move to "Shamakhi". Nihad was the top scorer with 20 goals in the reserve team last season. In addition, negotiations are ongoing with the players of "Turan Tovuz". But there is nothing specific. As last year, we want to introduce players like Rufat Abbasov and Edgar Adilxanov to Azerbaijan."
It should be noted that "Shamakhi" lost to the city's same-named team in Gabala with a score of 1:2 in the test match yesterday.
