"We are a newly formed team. We have recruited new players to the squad." These words were said by the head coach of "Shamakhi" Aykhan Abbasov in his statement to Sport24.az.
The expert shared his thoughts on preparing for the 2025/2026 season:
"Our three-week preparation went as we wanted. We tested our strength in test matches. The players are also getting into full shape from game to game. We want the team to play well and achieve results from the first round. We will get better as we play matches."
Abbasov also revealed the position they want to strengthen: "We intend to attract a new player to the defense line. We have few defenders. It is difficult for us. We'll see how it goes."
The head coach also spoke about transfer efforts: "We have almost finished this issue. If we can find suitable players for us, we will attract 1-2 players to the squad."
It should be noted that the season in the Misli Premier League will start on August 15. "Shamakhi" will be a guest of "Neftchi" in the first round.
