The head coach of the Azerbaijani national team, Aykhan Abbasov, in his statement to the AFFA press service, evaluated the draw for the 2026/2027 season of the UEFA Nations League:
"Our opponents are known, good luck to our team. We were familiar with all potential opponents, watched their games. Of course, our main goal is to return to League C. Friendly matches are coming up. In those games, we will have the opportunity to watch the players and determine the squad. I believe that we will return to League C."
It should be noted that our national team will face the national teams of Lithuania and Liechtenstein in Group 2 of League D. The new season in the Nations League will start in September.
