"Shamakhi" lost to "Kapaz" with a score of 1:4 in the 8th round of the Misli Premier League on their home field. Sport24.az reports that the head coach of the home team, Aykhan Abbasov, answered journalists' questions at the press conference held after the match:
- It was a disappointing defeat. I thank our fans. Unfortunately, we couldn't make them happy. I congratulate the opponent. There are such games in the championship, where nothing works for you, and everything is on the opponent's side. Today was one of those matches for us. Although we started the game well and scored a goal, we felt a decline in the team after the 20th minute. The turning point of the match was the episode when Abdullahi Shuaybu received a red card. Maybe if we played with 11 players, we could have changed something. We need to prepare for the next matches. Such events have happened to us in the past season as well. There are injuries. We are having difficulty making rotations. But this is not an excuse. As a team, we need to regroup.
- How would you comment on the episode when Abdullahi Shuaybu received a red card?
- Shuaybu's fault is great. There is nothing to console. I had prepared the players for such episodes. "Kapaz" has players who can provoke the opponent's forwards. One of them is Diogo Verdashka. I don't forgive such red cards. Because he put the team in a bad position. Maybe he wants to show himself to his former team.
- What did "Shamakhi" lose to "Kapaz" in?
- Today, everything worked for the opponent. It must also be said that they were more motivated than us. We needed to maintain the game we played in the first 20 minutes. We had also scored a goal. Today, of course, the opponent was superior to us.
- Could your two weeks in the national team have had an impact?
- After returning from the national team last month, we played our best game, we beat "Karvan-Yevlakh". My presence or absence doesn't affect the defeat. When some players are not there, our game drops. We need to look ahead.
- How do three defeats in two weeks mentally affect you?
- Of course, it's difficult. After defeats, you have to be stronger. I have been in the Premier League for many years. There have been consecutive defeats and victories. At this moment, we need to create self-confidence in the players. We know what we are fighting for. Yes, defeat in matches against opponents that suit us is unacceptable. But anything can happen in football.
