In the XIII round of the Premier League, towards the end of the "Shamakhi" - "Sumgayit" match, tension was observed between the head coaches of the teams, Aykhan Abbasov and Sasa Ilic.
Idman.Biz reports that after Sumgayit's equalizing goal, Sasa Ilic created dissatisfaction by gesturing to his colleague, which resulted in a brief confrontation on the field.
Aykhan Abbasov, the head coach of Shamakhi, said in a statement after the meeting that Ilic approached him after the match and apologized, which he accepted.
Sasa Ilic, commenting to journalists about the dispute with Aykhan Abbasov in the final minutes of the match, assessed that episode as a personal mistake:
"It was my fault. I apologize to the opposing head coach. There are emotions in football, I didn't have a specific gesture, unfortunately, it turned out that way."
