The head coach of the Azerbaijan national team, Aykhan Abbasov, gave an interview to the AFFA press service:
"Working in the Azerbaijan national team is a great honor and responsibility for every coach. I would like to thank the AFFA leadership for the trust placed in me. I will do my best to justify this trust. The national team is the pride of all of us. Both we and our players have a great responsibility. As a team, we will try to represent our country with dignity both on and off the field. United as one fist, we want to achieve good results with the right approach and team spirit. Azerbaijani fans have always been with the national team. Their support is a great source of motivation for us. We will try to show a decent game in the upcoming matches and give hope for the future." It should be noted that our A national team will face France on October 10 and Ukraine on October 13 away as part of the qualifying round for the 2026 World Cup.
