"It was a very difficult game". Sport24.az reports that these words were said by the goalkeeper of the Azerbaijan national team, Aydın Bayramov.
The goalkeeper shared his thoughts on the match in the "FIFA Series – 2026" international tournament, in which they won against the Sierra Leone team in a penalty shootout:
"We played against a good team. We conceded an unfortunate goal. I think there was a foul there. The absence of VAR had an impact. We fought to the end. We equalized. We won in the penalty shootout."
Bayramov said that they had prepared for the penalty shootout:
"We had looked at who could shoot in which direction. There was an argument after the match ended. There was nothing for me there. I was just going to calm things down. The opponent used a bad word in English. I also said, why are you swearing? There was nothing extraordinary."
According to him, it is always great to win:
"Doing it with the national team, winning the cup is a great feeling. It's hard to express feelings in words. Am I waiting for an invitation to the next gathering? This is the decision of the coaching staff. We prepare separately for each gathering. UEFA Nations League matches await us. We are ready for this tournament. I don't think our national team belongs in League D. We have to perform well and return to League C."
