The Austrian Football Association intends to continue its collaboration with national team head coach Ralf Rangnick. Sport24.az reports that this was reported by "Bild".
According to the source, negotiations are currently underway with the 67-year-old coach regarding a new contract. Rangnick's current contract with Austria runs until the end of July 2026.
The new contract is expected to be signed until the end of Euro 2028, and the coach is expected to earn up to 2 million pounds per year.
It should be noted that Rangnick took over as head coach of the Austrian national team in the summer of 2022. Under his leadership, the Austrians qualified for the 1/8 finals of Euro 2024. The team will also participate in the final stage of the World Cup, which will be held this summer. Austria is in Group J along with Argentina, Jordan and Algeria.
