Kazakhstan's "Turan" football club has been put up for auction.
Idman.Biz reports that, according to information posted on the sales portal, the starting price of the professional club has been set at only 1 million 54 thousand tenge (3600 AZN).
According to reports, the club currently employs 14 people. The book value of the club is only 1066 US dollars (1800 AZN).
Participants wishing to participate in the auction must pay a guarantee fee of 315 US dollars (535 AZN). The electronic auction is scheduled for March 3.
There are behind-the-scenes aspects to the club being put up for auction at a low price. "Turan"'s latest financial reports show that the representative has ended the last two years with a significant loss.
According to the 2024 profit and loss statement, the financial situation has deteriorated sharply. Thus, "Turan" lost 258 million 344 thousand tenge (approximately 875 thousand AZN) in 2024.
Even if the new buyer acquires the club for a symbolic price, they must both settle existing debts and invest millions to ensure the club's operation in the coming years.
