The management of Madrid's "Atletico" is considering extending the agreement with head coach Diego Simeone, despite the current contract expiring in 2027. Sport24.az reports that the "AS" publication has reported this.
According to the source, official negotiations with the Argentine specialist have not yet begun. Officials are confident that Simeone will sign a new contract. Atletico president Enrique Cerezo, CEO Miguel Angel Gil Marin and sporting director Mateu Alemany are confident that the Argentine will remain "at the helm" of the team.
It should be noted that Simeone has been coaching the Madrid club since December 2011, and during this time the team has become the national champion twice under his leadership. In the current season, after 18 games, "Atletico" is in third place in the standings with 37 points.
