Simeone and the "Atletico" management have confirmed their readiness to sign a new one-year contract at the end of the current season.
It was reported that "Inter" was interested in the coach against the background of the deterioration of relations between Simeone and "Atletico"'s sports director Mateu Alemany after the winter transfer window.
Simeone has been leading the Madrid club since December 2011. Under his leadership, "Atletico" won two Spanish championships and the Europa League.
