Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta has commented on the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final stage.
Idman.Biz reports that the match will start today at "Estadio José Alvalade" at 23:00 Baku time.
"When you look at what Sporting have been achieving, especially at home, how they have been playing in this Champions League and the teams they have beaten, we understand how difficult the match will be. That's why we want more. I think [Viktor Gyökeres] is really looking forward to the match. He is excited and very grateful to Sporting for his time there. This shows in the way he talks about the club, the players, the staff and everyone who works at Sporting. The experience he gained there was a very important part of his journey," Arteta told UEFA's official website.
At the end of July 2025, Gyökeres moved from Sporting to Arsenal in London. The forward played for the Portuguese club from July 2023 to July 2025.
