"It's a bad result for us. After scoring, we lost control of the game. We should have played with more composure. We could have conceded a third goal as well. It's unacceptable for us. We knew we would suffer in the second half. We need to forget this game and prepare for the next match."
Idman.biz reports that this was said by "Aris" head coach Marinos Ouzounidis after the 1:2 defeat in the first match of the second qualifying round of the Conference League against "Araz-Nakhchivan."
- "Araz-Nakhchivan" surpassed the opponent in all components and deservedly won. Do you agree with this?
- Yes, I agree.
- Is it possible to change something in a week, or is it too late because you made some mistakes in the analysis?
- It will be a completely different game. You will see.
- What are you hoping for in the return match?
- We will be better in the second game. We have a week. Physically, some players were not in good condition. That's why we expected such situations. We have experienced players. I expect them to react well. We made mistakes in the conceded goals.
- Your players were behaving rudely. Is this your playing style, or were you behaving like this because you were losing? Moreover, how will this moment psychologically affect your players in the return match?
- We are playing an official game. This is normal. We need to be calm in the second game. There are details we need to work on.
- Did the fact that "Araz-Nakhchivan" is a debutant in European cups cause you difficulties?
- I think the big problem was in our team. We knew how the opponent would play. The bigger problem was in our team. We could not achieve the desired result in the first game. In the return match, we want to win together with our fans and qualify for the next stage.
