"As expected, an interesting and dynamic game took place. Both teams performed worthy of the final." These words were said by Arif Asadov in his statement to Sport24.az.
He shared his thoughts on the game in which the Masazir representative defeated "Qarabag" in the final of the national cup:
"Although the first half of the game was dull, the pace increased in the second half of the match. The hot weather in the first 45 minutes affected the players. Although "Qarabag" had territorial advantage, "Sabah" was better prepared for the game. They won thanks to desire and determination. Fatigue was felt in "Qarabag" during extra minutes. The substitutions made by the Masazir representative in extra time also had an effect. The players who entered the field strengthened the game and increased the pressure and won. The final game was difficult for the referees. I think they coped with their job. Of course, there were minor mistakes. Mistakes are inevitable in such a responsible game. Overall, the referees did not manage the match badly."
It should be noted that "Sabah", which defeated "Qarabag" in the decisive match of the Azerbaijan Cup, won its first title in history and also qualified for the Europa League.
