Arif Asadov: "Samir Abasov's parting ways with 9 players does not surprise anyone"

"Of course, I follow the changes taking place in Neftchi."

Idman.biz reports that these words were said by experienced expert Arif Asadov in his statement to "Football-plus.az".

The former coach of our national team evaluated the changes in the capital representative's squad: "Head coach Samir Abasov's parting ways with 9 players does not surprise anyone today. Because he had months to get to know the team. However, with the current players, he neither became one of the prize-winners nor won the national cup. In general, Neftchi remained without a title again. But it is clear how demanding the fans of this team are. In such a situation, changes have been expected for a long time. This is demanded not only by the management and the head coach, but also by the people, the football community. Of course, Neftchi should fight for the highest places and the most serious titles. But if the new transfers do not more than fill the places of those who left, another season will be wasted. Very correct choices must be made. The head coach decides who will leave and who will stay. I think that Samir Abasov will do what is the most correct thing."

Arif Bey's thoughts on Neftchi's two important figures, Emin Mahmudov and Ramil Sheydayev, who have not lived up to expectations: "Both have enough experience. Neftchi needs such local players. No matter how strong the player is, if the team is not formed correctly, he cannot show himself in a good light and show his skills. Football is a team game. I believe that both Emin and Ramil will return to their magnificent performance as a result of the right transfer policy."
