Real Madrid coach Alvaro Arbeloa has shared his expectations for the Champions League play-off match against Benfica.
According to Idman.Biz, the first leg will be held on Tuesday at the Estádio da Luz in Lisbon. Benfica previously defeated Madrid in the final stage of the overall tournament (4-2).
Answering a question about what kind of Benfica they might face on February 17, Arbeloa said:
"First of all, they have a number of individual talents. But their setup will be very similar to three weeks ago. They have a leader who dictates how they will play and compete, who sets the tone. In that regard, there are some nuances. But it will be a very competitive and difficult match. And we have to be ready for it."
Commenting on Mourinho's thoughts on the "injured" Real Madrid, Arbeloa said that they do not have a sense of revenge.
"We always think about winning. Our goal is not only to beat Benfica, but also to win the Champions League. Reaching the play-off stage is not revenge, it is a goal," Arbeloa said at the pre-match press conference.
