Real Madrid coach Alvaro Arbeloa has shared his thoughts on the match against Benfica in the UEFA Champions League play-off round.
Idman.Biz reports that the match ended with a score of 1:0 in favor of the Madrid team.
"We had a great first half and deserved to score more goals. After the incident [regarding Gianluca Prestianni's racism allegations], everything changed, but we tried to play well and create goal chances.
Of course, the opponents became more open, and sometimes the ball went from one penalty area to another with less control. We clearly saw the 'Real Madrid' we wanted to see in this match: reliable, where everyone worked hard and played for the team. I am very happy with how we have changed since the game three weeks ago. We showed a completely different team, and this is the 'Real Madrid' that all Madrid fans want to see.
Of course, the last match was the furthest thing from our ideal. But this time we showed how it should be, and I have focused my attention on this since my appointment. We saw a great team. There is room for improvement, but we must move in this direction," Arbeloa said, citing the official Real Madrid website.
