Alvaro Arbeloa, the new head coach of Real Madrid, plans to change the team's playing philosophy.
Idman.Biz reports with reference to Diario AS that during Xabi Alonso's tenure, who was dismissed from his post on January 12, the team was built on structured football and intense pressing, an approach that only proved effective in the initial stages.
Arbeloa intends to give the players more freedom on the field. His principles are closer to Carlo Ancelotti's approach. In this model, players gain freedom of improvisation when they have the ball, while attackers are not required to do maximum work in defense.
The new head coach believes that this approach will highlight the individual qualities of the players and increase the team's attacking power.
It should be noted that Real Madrid will face Villarreal away on January 24 as part of the 21st round of La Liga.
