The management of "Araz-Nakhchivan" is not satisfied with the results of the games against the Cypriot representative "Omonia" in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League.
This was stated to "Report" by Eldaniz Yusubov, the executive director of the Nakhchivan representative.
The club official shared his views on the team's performance in European Cups this season:
"It was our debut season in European Cups. Our performance in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League was successful. We showed a good game enough. The team was gathered in a short time, and 70-80 percent of the squad changed. Nevertheless, we had good preparation for the European Cups. We beat "Aris", a Greek representative who was a very difficult opponent. Unfortunately, we could not continue this in the next round in the games with the Cypriot team "Omonia". The team performed far below its potential in both matches. We will investigate the reasons for this. It was our first experience in European Cups. Maybe the opponent was strong enough. The management is not satisfied with the results of the matches with "Omonia". But we must also take into account that it was a debut. The team deserved more. We can look to the future with hope."
He said that the management met with the players and coaches:
"Of course, the management conveyed their thoughts on the games with "Omonia". Expectations from the team were high. But the result did not satisfy us. The management conveyed their dissatisfaction. But we believe in the players, they have a big goal in the championship. They know that they need to fight for it from the first round."
E.Yusubov spoke about the upcoming goals:
"We are currently focused on the championship. Today we will have our first match against "Zira". We hope that we will make the failure in the matches with "Omonia" forgotten in the championship. We want to make our fans happy only with victories. The goal and target are still big. We have set ourselves the goal of winning a ticket to the European Cups. We will fight for medals in the Premier League."
It should be noted that "Araz-Nakhchivan" lost to "Omonia" in both matches in the third qualifying round of the Conference League - 0:4, 0:5.
