According to Lent.az, referring to foreign media, Anthony Gordon broke several club records in the Champions League. With 15 goals, he became Newcastle's all-time top scorer in the Champions League, as well as the club's all-time leader in the Champions League (10). In addition, Gordon's first goal was Newcastle's fastest goal in the competition (122 seconds).
According to reports, Gordon became the second player in Champions League history to score four goals in the first half. This record was previously set by Shakhtar Donetsk striker Luis Adriano, who scored four goals in 2014 in an away game against BATE Borisov of Belarus, which they won 7-0 in the group stage.
The return match will be held on February 24 at Newcastle's home stadium.
At the end of the overall Champions League stage, Qarabag finished 22nd in the tournament table with 10 points. With 14 points, the English club was in 12th place.
