Former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry has responded to criticism regarding the London team's style of play.
Idman.Biz reports that Arsenal is leading the English Premier League. The team has qualified for the Champions League quarter-finals.
"As an Arsenal fan, I may not like [their style], but I respect it. I'm not saying they will definitely win the league, but if they do, I will respect how they achieve it.
It doesn't matter what I like, or what my mother or father likes. We wanted Mikel Arteta to find a way [to win], and he did. It's very simple. I want to win the league, it's been 22 years.
For too long, Arsenal has been accused of not being mature enough, of not being able to maintain the lead. Can they win ugly? That's exactly what the team is doing, and they're excelling at it.
Did they lose their identity when Mikel Arteta first came? Sometimes, if you try to do something to evolve from Pep's [style], from Slot, you can forget a little bit who you are. Three years ago, people were talking about how well Arsenal were playing, while at the same time making the accusations I mentioned. Now they play like this, and people are unhappy," said Henry.
