Angel Di Maria recalls his time at Manchester United as one of the most difficult periods of his career. He stated that one of the main reasons for his failure at the club was his poor relationship with head coach Louis van Gaal. Sport24.az reports that the footballer spoke about this in the Netflix documentary "Angel Di Maria: Breaking Down the Wall."
"I scored goals, I made assists, but he never talked about it. He only discussed my mistakes. The period at Manchester United was a complete nightmare."
Former teammate Ander Herrera also stated that during that period, the head coach was too demanding of Di Maria, and this negatively affected the footballer's self-confidence.
It should be noted that the Argentine midfielder left the "Red Devils" after only one season and transferred to PSG. During his years at the French club, he managed to restore his previous form by showing a stable game.
