The President of the Ukrainian Football Association (UFA), Andriy Shevchenko, recalled a significant event in his career - winning the "Golden Ball" 21 years ago. Sport24.az reports that he shared this on one of the social networks:
"Exactly 21 years ago today I won the "Golden Ball". It is a great honor for me to be the third Ukrainian to win this award after the legendary Oleg Blokhin and Igor Belanov.
I am sure that the time will come when Ukraine will give the world a fourth "Golden Ball" winner."
It should be noted that Shevchenko was playing for the Italian club "Milan" when he won the "Golden Ball".
