Andriy Shevchenko, president of the Ukrainian Football Association (UAF), commented after the national team's defeat to Sweden in the semi-final play-off match of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Idman.Biz reports that the game ended with a score of 3:1 in favor of Sweden.
"I want to thank the fans for supporting the Ukrainian national team. We are dissatisfied with the result because the goal of the round was not achieved. Now the team must play well in the second match and show character and perseverance. After the match with Albania, we will conduct a full analysis of the qualifying round, talk to the head coach and make a decision in favor of the future of the national team," the UAF press service quoted Shevchenko as saying.
The Swedish national team has advanced to the final play-off stage, where they will face Poland.
