"Currently, the game discipline and team spirit in "Neftchi" have significantly strengthened compared to previous periods."
These words were said by Ukrainian footballer Andrey Shtohrin of "Neftchi".
The midfielder stated that serious changes have taken place in the game and in the team after the arrival of head coach Yuri Vernydub, who is his compatriot.
"First of all, the team spirit and atmosphere have changed. Now we have become a big family where everyone supports each other. This directly affects the results," he said in a statement to AZERTAC.
The football player emphasized that the main goal set for the team is to qualify for European cups: "This is our main goal. We work for this goal in every training session and every game. I believe we can succeed on this path."
He also touched upon the importance of the break in the championship: "During this period, it is very important to maintain physical fitness and game rhythm. At the same time, players have the opportunity to rest partially and prepare better for the upcoming matches. We are trying to get the most out of the break."
Reminding that they will face "Sumgayit" in the 26th round in three days, A. Shtohrin noted that the meeting will be difficult: "Matches with this team are always tense and interesting. Nevertheless, we will stick to our game plan and go to the field with a desire to win in order to achieve our goal."
It should be noted that "Neftchi" is currently in sixth place in the Premier League with 37 points.
