Andrey Demchenko took responsibility for the defeat

After the match between "Araz-Nakhchivan" and "Turan Tovuz" (0:3) within the XXVIII round of the Misli Premier League, the head coach of the home team, Andrey Demchenko, answered journalists' questions. Sport24.az reports that the expert first shared his thoughts on the game:

– If they had told me before the game that we would lose 3:0, I wouldn't have believed it. We had goal opportunities in the first half, and we also had chances in the second half. The golden rule in football is that if you don't score, they will score against you; the game lasts 90 minutes, and you need to be attentive until the end. Today we didn't succeed in this and lost. We must fight to the end.

– We understand that the responsibility for the defeat lies with the players. How much guilt does the head coach himself see in himself? 

– No, no one says that the players are to blame; first of all, the coach is to blame. It means I haven't found the quality needed for victory; I take full responsibility.

– Has the hope of going to European Cups completely disappeared with the defeat, or is the fight still on? 

– We have a goal; we need to fight to the end. Our rivals still have games to play.

– Since you came to "Araz-Nakhchivan," you have almost only defeated outsiders. You haven't been able to get even 1 point from slightly more serious opponents… 

– Perhaps we have difficulty transitioning from defense to attack, the difficulty may be related to this. We are trying to adapt the players to modern football, to keep the ball, to apply pressing. Some adapt faster, some later. I want to say that all responsibility is on me.
