Andrey Demchenko, the head coach of "Araz-Nakhchivan", who lost to "Turan Tovuz" with a score of 0:3 in their home match within the 28th round of the Misli Premier League, answered journalists' questions after the match, assessing the unexpected defeat and the current situation in the team.
Idman.Biz reports that Demchenko complained primarily about the inability to take advantage of opportunities.
"If they had told me before the game that we would lose 0:3, I wouldn't have believed it. In the first half, our game was working, we had scoring chances, but we couldn't take advantage of them. There is a golden rule in football, if you don't score, they will score against you. We lost concentration at the end of the game and lost. You have to fight until the last second," said the head coach.
Emphasizing that he does not avoid responsibility, the head coach primarily blamed himself for the defeat:
"No one says that the players are to blame. First of all, the head coach is to blame. So, I didn't do what was necessary to win. I take full responsibility".
Speaking about the Eurocup goals, Demchenko noted that the chances are not over yet: "
We have a goal, we must fight to the end. The opponents will also have games among themselves. I wouldn't say that our chance is completely over. We are trying to adapt the team to modern football - keeping the ball and pressing. We have difficulty transitioning from defense to attack, so we cannot get the desired result."
