In the voting, Schjelderup surpassed Chelsea striker Joao Pedro (two goals in a 3-2 victory over Napoli), Bayer midfielder Malik Tillman (two goals in a 3-0 victory over Villarreal) and Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister (two goals in a 6-0 victory over Qarabag).
