"Bournemouth" head coach Andoni Iraola is the main candidate for the head coach position of Bilbao "Athletic". Sport24.az reports with reference to the Spanish press that the 43-year-old specialist will take over the helm of the Basque club after Ernesto Valverde's departure at the end of the season.
Since the Spanish specialist's contract with the "Cherries" expires in the summer of 2026, he will inform the "Bournemouth" management of his decision regarding his future during the international break.
As a football player, Iraola wore the "Athletic" uniform from 2003 to 2015.
It should be noted that the Spanish coach has been in charge of "Bournemouth" since July 2023. Under his leadership, the "Cherries" finished last season in ninth place and also reached the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.
