Carlo Ancelotti has revealed why Real Madrid's last season was unsuccessful, despite the sensational transfer of Kilian Mbappe.
Lent.az reports with reference to foreign media that expectations were high after winning La Liga and the Champions League in 2024 and Mbappe joining an already great team. Instead, the season ended in disappointment as the team finished four points behind Barcelona in La Liga and were eliminated from the Champions League in the quarter-finals.
"It so happened that we lost our entire core defense. We lost Carvajal and Militao, and Rudiger was playing with a serious injury. Fortunately, Asensio came from the youth academy and played very well.
I had to put Valverde on the right flank and Tchuameni in the central defender position many times, which led to significant losses in midfield. We lost strength in defense, and this resulted in us not winning titles," Ancelotti said.
