Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has confirmed that Portuguese midfielder Bruno Fernandes will remain the team's main penalty taker.
Idman.Biz reports that the specialist announced this at a pre-match press conference with Liverpool.
Amorim emphasized that Fernandes has converted most of his penalties into goals: "Yes, he will remain the main penalty taker. He has taken approximately 70 penalties in his career and missed only nine of them - two were under my leadership. But he is confident, works hard and analyzes how opponents read his shots. He will be fully prepared for the next opportunity."
The head coach added that his team is ready for the pressure atmosphere at Anfield against Liverpool today and intends to show its best game in the North West derby of England.
It should be noted that in the current season, Fernandes has accurately executed only one of three attempts from the 11-meter mark. However, his overall score is still high - 62 goals out of 70 shots (88.6%). As part of Manchester United, he has converted 39 out of 45 penalties (86.6%).
