Dirk Bartel, president of the "Altona 93" club, which plays in the German fourth division, has announced his departure after 25 years of service.
Idman.Biz reports that Bartel based his decision on his personal age and stated that he no longer considers himself suitable for club leadership.
According to him, he is almost 80 years old, and this age may be suitable for some positions:
"I'm almost 80 years old now. Maybe it's a good age to be the President of the United States (referring to US President Donald Trump's 79 years), but I'm too old to run a football club anymore."
It is noted that Dirk Bartel has led the "Altona 93" club for a quarter of a century and has played an important role in the club's structure and management during this time.
