Azerbaijani FIFA referee Aliyar Aghayev is facing a difficult situation.
Idman.Biz, referring to sportal.az, reports that the referee cannot return to Azerbaijan.
Thus, he is currently forced to stay in Kuwait.
The well-known Azerbaijani football referee went there to officiate several matches of the Kuwait Cup. Due to the military tensions in the region, he is currently unable to return to the country.
Following the missile attacks by the US and Israel on Iran, the airspace in the region has been closed for security reasons. As a result, the operation of airports in Kuwait has been limited and international flights have been suspended.
Therefore, Aliyar Aghayev's return to Baku has been postponed indefinitely. It is currently unknown when the situation will normalize and flights will resume.
