Referee Aliyar Aghayev and VAR referee Javid Jalilov have been penalized for controversial decisions made during the "Turan Tovuz" - "Zira" (0:2) match, which was held as part of the first leg of the Azerbaijan Cup semi-final.
Idman.Biz reports that AFFA informed "Qafqazinfo" about this.
According to the information, the names of both referees have been removed from yesterday's "Qarabag" - "Karvan-Yevlakh" and today's "Imishli" - "Turan Tovuz" matches.
Earlier, Aliyar Aghayev was appointed as an AVAR referee for the "Qarabag" - "Karvan-Yevlakh" match, and Javid Jalilov was appointed as the main referee for the "Imishli" - "Turan Tovuz" match. However, they were replaced by Tural Gurbanov and Ravan Hamzazade, respectively.
It should be noted that the chairman of the AFFA Referees Committee, Rahim Hasanov, called the referee's decisions wrong in the episodes that Tovuz residents were dissatisfied with and where the head referee Aliyar Aghayev did not award a penalty, and confirmed that he made a wrong decision.
Let us remind you that the president of "Turan Tovuz", Ehtiram Guliyev, made a harsh statement on the matter and said that he did not forgive referee Aliyar Aghayev for the players' rights.
It should be noted that Aliyar Aghayev is a FIFA referee and regularly receives appointments for European Cup games.
