Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker spoke about the current season of the Merseysiders.
Idman.Biz reports that Becker noted the psychological problems in the team after the death of teammate Diogo Jota in a car accident.
"This season has really been very unlucky. I think we understand that, we feel it, we are aware of all these cases. Due to the quality of the team, the greatness of "Liverpool". But if we noted all the factors related to the changes, it would be very difficult to separate them. Because, if you look, the team that won the Premier League last year and the current starting squad are completely different teams, including in terms of character.
Therefore, the task is very big due to the change of players. We face emotional challenges that are beyond the human mind. No one can handle this. Everyone deals with it in their own way. We lost a teammate, a friend, and we are struggling with injuries.
Whatever the problems, we have already faced most of them this season. But we are not making excuses. We are trying to do our best. And we understand that the season is in danger because of all these problems," ESPN quotes Alisson.
Jota had been playing for the team since 2020. He died in a car accident on July 3, 2025. His younger brother Andre, who plays for Penafiel in the Portuguese second division, also died in the same accident.
"Liverpool" is currently sixth in the Premier League standings with 42 points. "Arsenal" leads the league with 57 points.
