Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov congratulated Turkey and Uzbekistan on qualifying for the FIFA World Cup.
According to "Report", during his speech at the meeting of the heads of government/Vice-Presidents of the member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), A. Asadov recalled that on March 31, the Turkish national team, with its victory over Kosovo (1-0), qualified again for the FIFA World Cup after 24 years (to be held in the USA, Mexico and Canada):
"This magnificent victory became a special source of joy for each of us. We sincerely congratulate brotherly Turkey on this historic event. At the same time, Uzbekistan's qualification for the World Cup for the first time in its history is a source of special pride and joy. Brotherly Uzbekistan achieved this historic achievement back in June of last year."
He emphasized that both successes can be assessed as a victory for the entire Turkic world:
"These victories clearly reflect the rise of the Turkic peoples in all areas."
