The Algerian national team, which lost to Nigeria in the quarter-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations held in Morocco, did not accept the result. Sport24.az reports that they are preparing to express their official protest to the Confederation of African Football (CAF), citing unfair decisions in the national match.
According to the information, the Algerian Football Federation accused the head referee of the match, Issa Sini, of biased management. It is reported that the referee ignored a clear penalty episode in favor of the Algerian national team, and also made decisions in favor of the Nigerian team in several important moments.
The federation's objections do not end there. It is noted that the referee avoided communication with Algerian football players after the final whistle. This step was assessed by the Algerian side as unprofessional behavior.
In addition, it was emphasized that after the match, some members of the Nigerian national team committed provocative acts against the Algerian team.
It should be reminded that this defeat was the end of the tournament for Algeria. The Nigerian team qualified for the semi-finals.
